The ‘Quick Exit’ button is a common feature on many domestic violence-related sites, which allows a user to quickly leave the website if they are being watched by their abuser. Clicking on the ‘Quick Exit’ button on the SmartSafe website will bring up a Google search page so it’s not immediately noticeable that the user has been visiting our site, but it will not clear SmartSafe from the user’s browser history or ‘back’ button.
The safest option is always to use a computer which a perpetrator doesn’t have access to – for example, a library computer or at a trusted family member’s house. Visit the Technology Safety Planning & Privacy Tips section of this site to learn more about Safety Planning.
If you are in danger, please use a safer computer, or call 000 (Australian emergency number) or 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732).
To leave this site quickly, click the ‘Quick Exit’ button at the top of any page.
